Unbox the Room
Unbox the Room is a cozy puzzle and interior-design simulator about turning a collection of moving boxes into a comfortable home. Instead of racing against a clock or chasing a high score, you help clients unpack their belongings and decide where everything should go. From sofas and shelves to books, cups, decorations, and personal objects, each item gradually gives an empty room more character.
The relaxing pace is one of the game's defining features. There are no timers or Game Over screens, so you can take your time looking around, experimenting with different arrangements, and making each space feel lived-in.
The main activity in Unbox the Room is straightforward: open boxes, take out their contents, and find suitable places for them. As you work through a room, you discover more than furniture. The belongings can also offer clues about the client's personality, habits, and everyday life, giving the decorating process a small storytelling element
Organization becomes more intriguing as available space fills up. You may need to reconsider an earlier placement to make room for another object, while some items simply give you more freedom to express your preferred style.
Beyond unpacking, Unbox the Room lets players discover small stories through the possessions they encounter. The game also includes a Sandbox Mode where you can experiment with furniture and other items without following the usual room-by-room structure.
The visual style combines colorful pixel art with an isometric presentation, giving rooms a distinctive look while keeping the different objects easy to recognize. A Magic Paint Roller also allows further adjustments to a room's overall appearance.
